ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
In his 14 years at Cushman & Wakefield, Erik Langburt has developed a unique expertise of translating business strategy into real estate solutions for his clients.
Along with his partner, Lloyd P. Cooper, they lead a team of eight professionals who manage a sophisticated full-service practice, with a focus on the office segment, namely leasing, acquisitions and dispositions. The team believes that integrating organizational culture into office space decisions can enable high level business performance and, when properly executed, serve to differentiate smart companies from their competition. The team is known for their creativity, which they apply to all aspects of their data-driven practice.
Erik is most passionate about, and primarily involved in, transactions in the tech, AI, coworking, fintech and media industries. To date, Erik has been personally involved in roughly 1,000 commercial real estate transactions including office portfolio optimizations, sale-leasebacks and build-to-suit LEED developments. In 2020 alone, Lloyd and Erik’s team concluded over 130 transactions totalling over 4M square feet representing a transaction value over $400M.
EDUCATION, MEMBERSHIP & AWARDS
Their team consistently ranks amongst the top 10 Canadian performers for Cushman & Wakefield and in 2020 Lloyd and Erik ranked #1 and #2 in the country respectively. Earlier in his career Erik was also the recipient of Cushman and Wakefield’s Rookie of the Year award in 2008, and the Emerging Broker of Distinction in 2012.
Erik is Chairman of the Jewish Chamber of Commerce and is serving as the GenMTL Campaign Chair for CJA’s 2020 campaign. He also sits on the Site Selection committee for Kehilla Montreal, a non-profit affordable housing organization. He was previously a member of the Board of Directors at Camp B’Nai Brith as well as a member on the executive committee for Corenet Global’s Eastern Canadian Chapter.
Within C&W, Erik is actively involved with the NextGen Network, the Tech Practice Group, the Tenant Advisory Group and was the Quebec chapter president for the C&W Future Leaders program from 2012 to 2014.
